And yes! Because of consistent public demand, they were given another chance to make the people
kilig. The fire flamed between the two when they were featured in the ABS-CBN Staion ID
"Umulan, Umaraw" which wows the televiewers and seen the real chemistry in them. After few months, they had lots projects together whether on TV, movies and even in commercials.
One of their biggest breaks as a loveteam would be being the flag-carrier of the Saturday dramedy teen show,
Berks. John can't believe he's going to be the frontman of the show. This is when he proved that his career is in the right pathway. Unfortunately, that was also the time when he parted ways with his non-showbiz girlfriend. But it seems that he easily recovered from it. Being
Javie in Berks made his way to find someone new in the person of his so-called
"special friend" , Heart.
Although John cam very much hold on his own with regard to talent, one cannot help but compare his boyish charm to that of
Aga Muhlach's. And yes, he does get that a lot.
When asked about the idea, this was his reply: "It's overwhelming to be called his heir apparent, but at the same time I felt pressured because people expect a lot from me. There's only one Aga Muhlach and he's the only one who can do the things he's accomplished, I just wish I can achieve even half of what he has. But of course, I want to build my own name in the industry."
It is quite obvious that John's feet are firmly planted on showbiz ground. Not just to rake in the dough, mind you. He's going through the motions to prove something to the industry and to himself. "I'm always giving my best to entertain people, be it comedy or drama and it's overwhelming to see people praise my work. It has always been a challenge for me, but as long as they want me to perform, I'm here to work for them."
Growing up in the limelight has truly made showbiz John's world. At present, John is venturing outside the four huge walls of ABS-CBN. He's now a 2nd year college student taking up BS Business Administration Major in Information Technology in Thames International Business School. It may be a scary thought for many of his fans, but truth be told...showbiz may just be discarded from his plans in the coming years.
For now, fear not, John isn't going anywhere anytime soon. He's just too hot to put a lid on. Besides, who'd want to anyway?!
